Direct RNA-seq has revolutionized the epitranscriptomics field by changing and facilitating how we map RNA modifications. This has vast implications, from exploring epitranscriptomic functions to uncovering the roles that RNA modifications play in diseases, not to mention how this can impact the development of epitranscriptomic-based diagnostics and therapeutics.
